1. Remove all original documents from the ADF tray.
2. Open the ADF cover.
3. Remove the jammed paper. Note: Make sure that all paper fragments are removed.
4. Close the ADF cover.
5. Flex, fan, and align the paper edges before loading.
6. Reload the documents into the ADF.

When an original gets jammed while passing through the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), a warning message appears on the Display Screen.

CAUTION: To avoid tearing the originals, remove the jammed item slowly and gently.

NOTE: To prevent paper jams, use the Document Glass for thick, thin, or mixed paper-type originals.

1. Remove any remaining pages from the ADF.
2. Lift open the ADF cover.

1. Gently remove the jammed paper from the ADF. If there is no paper in this area, go to the next step.
2. If necessary, use two hands to raise the Duplex unit and pull any jammed originals gently out of the document feeder. If there is no paper in this area, go to the next step.

1. Lower the Duplex unit, and close the ADF cover.
2. Lift the ADF and gently pull out any jammed originals.

1. Close the ADF.
2. Reload the removed pages into the ADF and press the [Start] button on the Control Panel to resume the job.

1. Open the ADF Feed Cover.
2. Remove the remaining original from the Original Tray.
3. Open the ADF.
4. Remove the jammed original.
5. Close the ADF.
6. Close the ADF Feed Cover.
